We're glad you're here. Here's a little about who we are, how we work, and what being an independent agency means for you.

Our story

A simple start, in 1981.

Immanuel Insurance had a simple start in 1981, in the basement of founder David Blidberg's home in Barrington, NH. In 1984, David Goodwin purchased the agency and, over the next four decades, grew it into one of the Seacoast's trusted independent agencies.

In 1991 we joined SAN/SIAA (the Satellite Agency Network) to expand our insurance markets. With over $6 billion in combined written premium and 6,000+ members, it's the largest insurance network in America — and it helps us build stronger relationships with our carriers so we can better serve our clients.

On July 1, 2024, Brian Jacobsen purchased Immanuel Insurance from David Goodwin and became its owner. David remains part of the team, while Brian carries forward the same local, relationship-first commitment the agency was built on — for the families and businesses of New Hampshire and Maine.

Over the years, a few goals have stayed the same:

  • Provide care and protection for the families and businesses of New Hampshire and Maine.
  • Build personal, friendly relationships so we truly know our clients' needs.
  • Operate with integrity in all our relationships.
  • Have fun along the way.

When to give us a call

Life changes, and your coverage should keep up. Give us a quick call whenever you:

If something happens:

  1. Make sure everyone's safe, and prevent further damage if you can.
  2. Take photos and a few notes while it's fresh.
  3. Call us — we'll walk you through it and work with your insurer on your behalf.
